Junie Désil (she/her)
Facilitation + Community Development

Junie is at her happiest when she can bring folks together for a common goal, and help people get to the core of what is at stake. Whether it’s facilitating difficult (or not so difficult conversations), setting up a stakeholders’ group, or training your Board on governance issues, Junie brings a person-centred, trauma-informed approach, rooted in an intersectional feminist framework. As a cis, Black woman born of immigrant (Haitian) parents, she brings lived experience, and more than a decade, of organizing, training, facilitating, and community development work with non-profit, social justice and service-centred organizations. As a creative, a poet, coach and convener of people,  Junie is honoured to share her learnings to facilitate deep systemic change, and collectively dismantle oppressive structures.

In her “spare” time she writes, makes beautiful food, and nurtures her various creative interests.

Sandy Manj, (she/her)
Communication + Advocacy

Sandy is a strategic communications specialist, entrepreneur and human security advocate who specializes in telling complex stories. Born of immigrant (Punjabi) parents on the unceded lands of the Cowichan nation, now living on the unceded lands of Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh nations. Her work focuses on a singular outcome: using information (in the form of storytelling) to reimagine how oppressive global systems can be replaced with ones that meet the needs of everyone, not just a privileged few. Sandy's strengths lie in her ability to distill complex information into inspired calls for action. Her area of interest is building feminist economies and resilient communities.

When Sandy is not working, you’ll find her either collecting recipes (that she has no plan for actually cooking) or planning an adventure to a remote location somewhere across the globe (which she will definitely take).

Education:
M.A. Human Security and Peacebuilding, Royal Roads University
